The OpTecBB network is pleased to welcome Surflay Nanotec as a new member. The company brings extensive expertise in polymer and surface sciences as well as microsensor technology, further strengthening the innovation capacity of the cluster.
Surflay (Surface Layers) was founded in 2008 as a spin-off from the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces and Capsulution Nanoscience AG. Capsulution initially focused on the encapsulation and controlled or triggered release of pharmaceutical active ingredients. With the growing importance of non-pharmaceutical applications, Surflay Nanotec GmbH was established under the leadership of Dr. habil. Lars Dähne, consistently expanding this field of development.
Today, Surflay supports academic and industrial partners in the development of innovative technologies and products and has continuously grown through numerous applications. Thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities, excellent networking opportunities, and its location in the Technology Park Berlin-Adlershof, the company is considered a leading player in its field.
As a private company, Surflay also serves as an important partner for knowledge and technology transfer between science and industry. Its interdisciplinary team consists of nine scientists, engineers, and technicians who work in flexible project groups.
OpTecBB is pleased to gain Surflay Nanotec as a highly innovative partner that exemplifies the strong link between surface technologies and application-oriented research.
The sole shareholder and managing director of Surflay Nanotec GmbH is Dr. habil. Lars Dähne.
