The IT team with 7 staff members is responsible for the IT infrastructure. It runs the central infrastructure (network, applications, 100 servers for up to 700 clients) providing a variety of IT and communication services to ~200 employees in research, technical infrastructure and administration. The backend consists of Linux, Solaris, and Windows servers. Clients run on Windows and Linux operating systems.

Jointly within the other IT team members you will administer UNIX based applications on Linux and Solaris. You will plan and develop the future system landscape and help to migrate existing and establish new applications. The tasks in particular are the following:

Requirements:
The successful candidate holds a bachelor or master in computer sciences, mathematics or natural science. Equivalent qualifications or work experience are considered as equal. The candidate proves long term practical experience in Linux/UNIX. Service orientation towards the employees is a must. German language skills are essential in the long run. A basic knowledge of German is considered a plus.
